FIVE TRIBES STORY CONFERENCE, Sept. 21-22, Center for the American Indian, Bacone College. Space is limited and reservations will be on first-come basis. Registration fees are $20 per day and are required to attend the daytime events. Lunch will be provided. A traditional dinner will be served on Sept. 21 before the concert and is an additional $10. RIDE FOR THE VETS POKER RUN, Sept. 22. The Poker Run will begin at the Ernest Childers VA Outpatient Clinic in Tulsa with a free breakfast, bug dots and event T-shirts selling for $15. CIVIL WAR QUILT SEMINAR, 2:30 p.m. Sept. 23, Pawnee Bill Ranch. Martha Ray, retired director of the Oklahoma Historical Society’s Historic Homes division, will teach the seminar. 7TH ANNUAL ART WALK, Oct. 6, Eufaula. The Eufaula Area Arts Council is hosting the event and will include a car and golf cart showing. Anyone interested in selling art, playing music, showing a car, golf cart or volunteering are encouraged to call or drop by Eufaula Main Street Studio. BASS REEVES LEGACY TRAIL WALKING TOUR, 5:30 p.m. Oct. 12, downtown Muskogee. Walk in the footsteps of the legendary African-American lawman Bass Reeves through downtown Muskogee. This walking tour includes costumed interpreters who will tell the story of the heroic lawman as it happened over 100 years ago. OUTHOUSE RACE, 1 p.m. Oct. 13, Three Rivers Museum. A “Parade of Thrones” will take place at noon. Attendees at the Heritage Days Festival will also have an opportunity to vote for a People’s Choice Award of the most creative and best decorated outhouse. The race consists of teams of three racing an “outhouse” they have constructed. Outhouses can be constructed of any material and there are no weight requirements. One team member must ride inside the outhouse while two other members push the outhouse along the marked course. The winning outhouse will be awarded a “Golden Throne” award. WORLDWIDE PHOTO WALK, 7:30 a.m. Oct. 13, 315 Court St. The Three Rivers Photography Club and local photographer Marie Gassaway are helping Muskogee take part in the fifth annual “Worldwide Photo Walk” by organizing a local walk.
