THINGS TO DO — Arts 03.01.13

— “OPEN DOORS” PHOTO EXHIBIT, 6:30 p.m. March 1, The Bite, 318 W. Broadway. Permanently housed in West Hollywood at the former “Doors’ Workshop,” the “Open Doors” Photo exhibit featuring photos by Lisa LaRue will open its clone in Muskogee. TRAIL OF TEARS ART SHOW AND SALE, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 20 through May 27, Cherokee Heritage Center, 21192 S. Keeler Drive, Park Hill. Last year’s exhibition included 87 Native American artists from 13 tribal nations and featured 145 art pieces. Artists will compete in eight categories, including paintings, graphics, sculpture, pottery, basketry, miniatures, jewelry and a Trail of Tears theme. OPEN STUDIO, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Muskogee Art Guild, 315 Court St. Artists who are 16 or older who want to create and enjoy the company of other artists are welcome. There is no charge. Bring your own supplies and projects. Instruction is available to beginners.

THREE RIVERS PHOTO CLUB meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of every month at 315 Court Street in Muskogee. The club has competitions the first Monday of every month from beginners to experts at photography. The third Monday is for classes and instruction. Learn your camera and composition. FINE ARTS GALLERY, Muskogee Art Guild, 315 Court St. Framed works are all for sale and the building is open to the public every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The work is changed out every two months to give more members a chance to display work. Member-created jewelry and sculpture also is displayed.

THREE RIVERS YOUTH PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB meets from 9:30 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of the Month at the Muskogee Art Guild 315 Court St, Muskogee 9:30 AM till Noon. The Group will focus on turning your pictures from snapshots to art. Great chance to learn and grow in photography. More information Contact Marie Gassaway 918-682-3745.
