OKLAHOMA CITY —
The Oklahoma County judge who stepped aside from a pharmacist's murder case and was accused of misconduct is in bankruptcy.
The Oklahoman reports Judge Tammy Bass-LeSure and her husband — Karlos LeSure — filed for bankruptcy in June 2009 after banks foreclosed on six homes they owned in Oklahoma County. They could not be reached for comment.
Their personal home is not part of the foreclosures. Court records show their financial troubles are due in part to failed real estate investments.
Bass-LeSure has stepped aside from the murder case of pharmacist Jerome Ersland at the request of prosecutors. Prosecutors say Bass-LeSure provided her personal trainer the names of attorneys while the trainer had a pending drug case in her court.
