Oklahoma City mosque hit by vandals

— OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Authorities are investigating after vandals fired paintballs at an Oklahoma City mosque early Sunday.

The vandalism at the Grand Mosque of Oklahoma City was captured on surveillance video. The mosque's imam, Hassan Ahmed, says he's turned the video over to police.

Ahmed tells The Oklahoman he's considering hiring security for next week's service celebrating the end of Ramadan.

The paint was removed. Ahmed says the building did not sustain any damage.

The Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said in a statement Monday that the incident should be investigated as a hate crime.
