OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A man has been killed when his car was hit by an Oklahoma City police car as the officer responded to a call.
Sgt. Gary Knight says the officer was not hurt in the Thursday morning collision — but the driver of the car was dead at the scene. No names have been released.
Knight says the officer radioed a dispatcher at 5:32 a.m. for an ambulance at an intersection in southwestern Oklahoma City. The officer was traveling east when he crashed into the driver's side door of the car.
Knight said he doesn't know how fast the officer was going or whether he had the patrol car's lights and sirens on. The type of call the officer was responding to was not immediately released.
