Suspect charged in Midwest City slaying
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A Midwest City man has been charged with two counts of murder in the death of his pregnant girlfriend.
Oklahoma County prosecutors on Tuesday filed two counts of first-degree murder against 28-year-old Eric Ray Knox.
Knox is accused of killing 25-year-old Stacey Beesley, whose beaten and bloody body was found by police on Dec. 21 inside Knox's Midwest City apartment. According to a police affidavit, Knox was 21 weeks pregnant.
The affidavit says a newspaper carrier alerted police to the scene after seeing a man covered with blood.
Police say Knox confessed to the killing during an interview with detectives.
Knox is being held without bond in the Oklahoma County jail. Court and jail records do not indicate if he has retained an attorney.
