NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — A Cleveland County judge has ordered a Midwest City man to stand trial in the death of his ex-girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter.
Special Judge Michael Tupper ruled at the end of Wednesday's preliminary hearing that there was enough evidence to try Donald Reeser for first-degree murder in the June 18 drowning of Allie Croom at Draper Lake in south Oklahoma City.
Reeser's 6-year-old son, Brady, testified that Reeser pulled Allie into the water and put her head under water numerous times during the outing.
Reeser's attorney, Elton Jenkins, said Thursday that the child fell in the lake earlier that day, and that his client was nowhere near her.
Jenkins believes the girl took on water then and says Reeser had nothing to do with her death.
