MANGUM, Okla. (AP) — State investigators say an off-duty Mangum police officer was involved in a shooting after a domestic disturbance at the home of a relative.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown says investigators believe 37-year-old officer Brian Ditmore shot his brother-in-law during the disturbance Thursday night in Mangum.
Brown says the 41-year-old victim was taken to an Altus hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. His name was not released.
Brown says police remained outside the home Thursday night and were unable to make contact with Ditmore, who was inside.
Brown could not immediately be reached for comment early Friday, and a message left with the Mangum police chief was not returned.
