CHANDLER, Okla. (AP) — A Choctaw man has been killed in a collision on U.S. 177 in Lincoln County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 54-year-old Johnny Leemaster died at the scene of the accident about 9:20 a.m. Tuesday. There was fog in the area.
Troopers say a truck driven by Justin Colley was headed south on the highway when Colley tried to pass a commercial vehicle as Leemaster was headed north.
The patrol says both vehicles swerved to avoid the collision, but Colley's truck hit Leemaster's vehicle on the driver's side. Troopers say the impact partially ejected Leemaster.
Colley was treated at a local hospital and released.
The patrol says both drivers were wearing seat belts.
