Judge finds probable cause to charge Tulsa officer

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A judge says Tulsa police Officer Travis Ludwig should be bound over for trial on a charge of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.



The 37-year-old Ludwig appeared in court Friday before special Tulsa County District Judge Kirsten Pace.



The judge denied a motion from a lawyer for Ludwig, seeking to bar prosecutors from using as evidence some materials seized by police. Police say the cocaine was found in Ludwig's police car during an unrelated investigation.



Ludwig's attorneys say the officer doesn't know where the drugs came from but that a suspect may have dumped them in the patrol car.



Ludwig, also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, has entered not-guilty pleas to the charges and remains free on bond.



Ludwig was suspended with pay after his arrest on Sept. 22.
