NICHOLS HILLS, Okla. (AP) — A police affidavit says a doctor charged with killing his 9-year-old son said "he's got the devil in him" as he tried to stab the boy with a third knife, but was restrained by an officer who had just arrived.
The affidavit was filed by police to support the arrest and murder charge against Dr. Stephen P. Wolf, 51, arrested after the slaying of Tommy Wolf early Monday.
According to the affidavit, when an officer arrived at the home, the doctor's wife, Mary Wolf, told the officer, "He's killing my son. He's killing my son." The officer found Wolf on the floor of the kitchen, crouched over his son, who already had two knives implanted in him, the affidavit said.
The officer had to take a third knife from Stephen Wolf before he could be handcuffed, the affidavit said.
Wolf had previously been hospitalized at least twice for treatment of depression.
