OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Gov. Brad Henry has appointed Lisa Tipping Davis of Edmond to a vacant district judgeship in Oklahoma County.
Henry announced the appointment on Friday. Davis succeeds Judge Carolyn Ricks, who retired in October.
Davis is a former state assistant attorney general who has been the attorney general's general legal counsel since 2003.
Davis spent 11 years as an assistant attorney general and also worked in private practice. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1981 and earned her law degree from the OU College of Law three years later.
The governor selected Davis from among three candidates whose names were submitted by the Judicial Nominating Commission.
