TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Tulsa police are investigating the death of a nine-month-old child who nearly drowned in a bathtub.
Authorities said James Dawson, who was born in February, died Thursday at St. Francis Hospital.
Officers responded to a call of a possible drowning involving a small child at an east Tulsa apartment complex on Wednesday. Police said then that preliminary information indicated that the child's mother had been bathing him in the tub and left the room briefly.
Capt. Richard Alexander said when she returned, she found the baby face down in the tub.
Child Crisis detectives are investigating his death.
