MIAMI, Okla. (AP) — Prosecutors say a convicted drug trafficker has been arrested after he used a fraudulent document to gain early release from the Lawton Correction Facility.
Ottawa County District Attorney Eddie Wyant said 47-year-old Richard Lynn Dopp was arrested at his mother's rural home in Ottawa County about 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Wyant said Dopp, who was serving a life sentence, was released from the private prison on Oct. 5 after it received a fraudulent document showing his sentence had been reduced.
Corrections Department spokesman Jerry Massie said the case is being investigated to determine what went wrong and how this can be avoided in the future.
