LAWTON, Okla. (AP) — The state medical examiner has identified a woman who died in a fire in Lawton.
Spokeswoman Cherokee Ballard says the body of Linda Patterson was identified through X-rays from her medical records. The cause and manner of death are still pending.
The body of a man who died in the same fire has not been identified although authorities in Lawton say it's believed to be Patterson's 80-year-old husband — Charles Patterson.
Assistant Lawton Fire Marshal Tim Taylor says the Friday morning fire appears to be accidental and started in the bedroom but the exact cause is still under investigation.
