3 die in Oklahoma City apartment fire

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma City fire investigators say a fast-moving fire that swept through an apartment building and killed three people was intentionally set.

A release from the fire chief's office says investigators have determined the Tuesday morning fire was set.

Deputy Fire Chief Cecil Clay did not immediately return a phone call for additional comment.

Clay said earlier that firefighters were called to the blaze on the city's southwest side at 2:22 a.m. and found flames shooting through doors on the first floor of the two-story structure.

He says two of the adult victims were on the second floor of the building. A third was found at the bottom of a first-floor stairwell, Clay said.

Six other occupants managed to escape, including a woman who injured her back jumping from a window. A man also suffered minor burns when he touched a hot doorknob.

The identities of the victims were not immediately released.
