Fallin tops 4 governor candidates in fund-raising

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Among the four candidates seeking the open Oklahoma governor's seat in 2010, U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin raised the most in the recent quarter, but Attorney General Drew Edmondson is the first to pass the $1 million mark.

Financial reports for all four candidates for the period from July 1 to Sept. 30 were due at midnight Monday, but most of the candidates filed their reports by late afternoon. Lt. Gov. Jari Askin's report was not filed by 5 p.m. Monday, but she provided a copy of her contribution and expenditure report to The Associated Press.

Fallin reported raising nearly $418,000 for the quarter, with Askins nearing that amount — a total of $405,000 during the quarter. Edmondson reported raising $365,000 during the quarter, while state Sen. Randy Brogdon reported $54,000.
