VAN BUREN, Ark. (AP) — An Oklahoma man has pleaded not guilty in Arkansas to first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend's 16-month-old daughter in Van Buren.
The Crawford County Public Defender's Office entered the plea Wednesday on behalf of 26-year-old Devin Alex Pendleton of Pocola, Okla. Pendleton was arrested Oct. 10 following the death of the girl on Oct. 6 at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.
Court documents say Pendleton admitted to police that he shook the child and threw against a concrete floor on Oct. 4 at the home of the girl's mother — Sara Shores.
