CHICKASHA, Okla. (AP) — A Chickasha man has been sentenced to death for the 2008 shooting death of his friend in Grady County.
Grady County District Judge Richard Van Dyck on Thursday sentenced 32-year-old Ronson Kyle Bush to die for the December 2008 killing of William Harrington.
Earlier in the week, the jury was dismissed after Bush entered a guilty plea to first-degree murder.
After listening to evidence in the sentencing phase, Van Dyck ruled the state met its burden of proof and sentenced Bush to die.
Harrington was shot five times with a .357 Colt revolver on Dec. 23, 2008, as he sat in a recliner at his home. Prosecutors allege Bush then tied him to a pickup truck and dragged him more than 200 yards into a pasture, where he was left to die.
