2 arrested on meth charges

ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) — Carter County sheriff's deputies say they were trying to serve an arrest warrant when they saw two people in a house making methamphetamine by a new method called shake-and-bake.

This highly volatile meth recipe has become popular because it requires a relatively small number of pills of the decongestant pseudoephedrine.

It's called shake-and-bake because the pills are crushed, combined with some common household chemicals and then shaken in a soda bottle. Deputies say this is the first evidence of its use in Carter County.

Arrested were Matthew McLemore and Christy Lou Davis, both of Healdton.

They were booked pending charges of endeavoring to manufacture methamphetamine.
