CHOUTEAU, Okla. (AP) — An assistant football coach and teacher at Chouteau has been charged with sexual abuse of a 17-year-old female student.
Prosecutors in Mayes County filed the charge against 26-year-old Zachary George on Monday.
Assistant District Attorney Becky Gore says George is accused of touching the girl inappropriately and of asking her to perform a sex act.
In addition to his coaching duties — George taught history and social studies.
He was suspended by the school district on Aug. 28 and resigned the same day.
