PONCA CITY, Okla. (AP) — Authorities say a Blackwell man was killed when his car collided with a pickup truck on U.S. 177 in Noble County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 51-year-old Ricky Coursey sustained multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident about 12:25 p.m. yesterday near Ponca City.
According to the patrol, Coursey's car was headed north on the highway when his vehicle crossed over into the southbound lanes and crashed into 52-year-old Edward G. Rathbun's truck.
Troopers say Coursey was trapped in his vehicle for about an hour before being freed by firefighters.
Rathbun was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, but his condition wasn't provided.
The patrol says both men were seat belts.
