GUTHRIE, Okla. (AP) — A film based on the life of prison reformer Jack Black is to begin filming in Guthrie in July.
The Oklahoma Film and Music Office says "You Can't Win" was originally scheduled to be filmed in Oregon and Wyoming.
The film is taken from Black's 1926 autobiography, which tells of his experiences as a tramp, freight-hopping around the United States and Canada, becoming a burglar, serving stints in jail, and escaping, often with the assistance of crooked cops or judges.
Historic downtown Guthrie has been used in several films. "The Killer Inside Me," based on a 1952 pulp crime novel and starring Jessica Alba, Casey Affleck and Kate Hudson is being shot there now.
