JENKS, Okla. (AP) — Police in Jenks say a Tulsa man has been killed after crashing his sport utility vehicle into the Welcome to Jenks Lighthouse.
Police say 28-year-old Jarrell Colbert apparently lost control of the SUV about 12:30 a.m. Saturday while driving west off the 96th Street bridge.
Police Commander Paul Rinkel says Colbert slammed into the brick base of the lighthouse which serves as an entrance and a landmark in Jenks.
The lighthouse has been in place for about four years.
