MUSTANG —
About 60 soldiers with the 2-45th Agri-business Development Team are leaving Oklahoma for training — then deployment to Afghanistan.
About 400 family and friends gathered in Mustang Sunday for a deployment ceremony before the soldiers leave the state Monday.
They go first to Camp Atterbury, Ind., and are to leave for Afghanistan next month.
About one-third of the unit includes specialists in areas that include soil sampling, veterinary medicine, horticulture and beekeeping. They'll be training Afghans in the development of agriculture to help that country become more self-sufficient.
The remaining two-thirds of the unit is a security team.
