Creek Nation may help with BA casino

— BROKEN ARROW (AP) — The Muscogee (Creek) Nation may consider managing a controversial Broken Arrow casino initially set up by the Kialegee Tribal Town.

The Tulsa World reported that developers want to finish the Red Clay Casino and sell it to the Muscogee (Creek) Nation for $1. The Red Clay Group estimates the casino would generate up to $25 million a year.

The Kialegee, as a partner in the Red Clay Group, would see some of the profits. Meetings are planned beginning next week. Gaming authorities haven't weighed in.

A federal judge stopped work on the casino in May, rejecting arguments that the Kialegee had a right to build on land it said it shared with the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.

Leaders of a local residents' group say they'll oppose the plan.
