OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — University of Oklahoma President David Boren is offering to donate land near the state Medical Examiner's Office for possible expansion of the building.
State Rep. Al McAffrey confirms the offer of land near the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. McAffrey says the state would have to pay for the expansion of the building.
A recent report criticizes the Medical Examiner's Office for lack of space for staff and case files and a lack of room for more autopsies.
McAffrey says he prefers expanding the current building over a plan to move the Medical Examiner's Office to Edmond near the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Forensic Science Center.
