OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Bixby and Shawnee have moved into Class 6A for the first time on the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association's classification list.
The OSSAA released the enrollment-based list Tuesday. Bixby and Shawnee are the final two schools on the list for Class 6A, which has 32 schools and is the highest class.
Those two schools displaced Tulsa East Central and Tulsa Memorial, which dropped into Class 5A. East Central is 5A's largest school while Bishop McGuinness of Oklahoma City is the largest Class 4A school. The largest schools in other classes are Tulsa Cascia Hall in 3A, Davis in Class 2A, Howe in Class A and Frontier in Red Rock in Class B.
