FORT SUPPLY, Okla. (AP) — An inmate who escaped from the William S. Key Correctional Center in Woodward County has been recaptured.
Prison officials said a deputy warden reached the inmate, Richard Youtsey, by telephone and persuaded him to surrender. Two detention officers from the prison picked him up Tuesday afternoon at a motel in Elk City. He escaped from the prison Monday.
Online prison records indicate that Youtsey was scheduled for release in 2027 for convictions in 2008 on charges of false impersonation, writing bogus checks and bail jumping.
INHOFE-COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENT
Inhofe joins Senate Foreign Relations Committee
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe has been appointed to the Senate's Foreign Relations Committee.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky announced the appointment of Inhofe on Tuesday in Washington.
The Oklahoma Republican will fill the GOP vacancy on the committee left by former Sen. Norm Coleman of Minnesota. Inhofe will be the ranking member on the committee's East Asian and Pacific Affairs subcommittee.
Inhofe will remain as the ranking member of the Environmental and Public Works Committee and a senior member of the Armed Services Committee.
