TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A Tulsa County judge has sentenced a man to 20 years in prison for an accident that killed a pedestrian on a sidewalk last year.
District Judge William Kellough also revoked Marlon Raleigh Tanner's probation on a felony drug charge and ordered that a four-year prison term run concurrently to the longer sentence.
The 21-year-old Tanner pleaded guilty in April to first-degree manslaughter in the death of Stefanie Lee Andrews. Prosecutors say he was driving under the influence of alcohol about 3 a.m. Oct. 11 when he struck the 18-year-old Andrews, who was walking home from a friend's house.
Prosecutors say tests showed his blood-alcohol content was .14, more than the .08 legal limit.
Tanner had no deal with prosecutors and must serve 85 percent — 17 years — of his sentence before he's eligible for parole.
