Man accused of tossing phones into Lawton prison

— LAWTON (AP) — Authorities say a man has been arrested for allegedly throwing cell phones over a fence for inmates at the prison in Lawton.

Authorities say the man was arrested about 2 a.m. Tuesday on the northwest corner of the privately run correctional center. Lawton television station KSWO reported that surveillance video captured a man tossing eight cell phones over the fence.

Authorities say contraband phones sell for a high price within the prison. But Lawton police said everything thrown over the fence was recovered.
