The loss drops ORU to 14-9, 9-2 in Southland Conference play and into a tie with Northwestern State (15-6, 9-2) for second place. ORU shot nearly 50 percent (27-55) but the 28 turnovers were converted into 34 points for NSU.
The Golden Eagles got a career-high 28-point effort from Shawn Glover. James Hulbin led four Northwestern players in double figures with 19 points.
NORTHWESTERN (LA.) STATE 67, ORU WOMEN 63 — ORU (10-11, 7-4 Southland Conference) was held scoreless for the game’s final 2:51, while Northwestern State (8-13, 4-7) ended the game on an 8-2 run to prevail in Natchitoches, La.
Kevi Luper scored a team-high 19 points, and Jaci Bigham added 16. Bigham was credited with just two assists on the night and is now tied with Leah Cannon for the ORU career record, at 603.
KENTUCKY 80, ARKANSAS WOMEN 74 — At Fayetteville, Ark., Sarah Watkins scored 25 points for the Razorbacks (15-8, 3-7 SEC) but it wasn’t enough to knock off the Wildcats (20-3, 8-2).
Quistelle Williams had 18 points, and finished with a team high eight rebounds. Wilson’s career high 17 was the most points by a Razorback freshman since Sarah Watkins scored 20 points versus Alcorn State on November 15, 2009 in Hot Springs, Ark..
