HOUSTON — Scottie Haralson scored 19 points off five 3-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Tulsa past Houston 87-72 on Wednesday night.
Tulsa (12-8, 4-2 C-USA) led by as many as 22 in the second half and hit 12 3-pointers in the contest while shooting 50.8 percent from the field overall and dishing out 20 assists.
The Hurricane turned 14 Houston turnovers into 19 points. Houston was 5 for 20 from beyond the arc but was 23 of 28 from the free-throw line.
Four other players were in double figures for Tulsa including James Woodard and Tim Peete who scored 14 points apiece. Pat Swilling Jr. had 11 points and Kauri Black chipped in with 10.
TaShawn Thomas led Houston (12-6, 1-4) with 12 points, 13 rebounds and two steals. Joseph Young led all Cougar scorers with 16 points and Danuel House added 15 points and five rebounds.
