Bacone splits in volleyball

— BETHANY —The Bacone Lady Warriors managed a split Tuesday against Southwestern Christian and Austin College.

Bacone defeated the Eagles 3-2 (12-25, 25-22, 28-26, 25-20, 15-5) with Jade Tigilau leading the way with 14 kills and 13 kills; Leslie Jenkins finished with 13 kills, Phelecia Jones added 16 digs and Toree Misa’alefua logged 40 assists.

In the late match the Lady Warriors were defeated 3-0 (18-25, 13-25, 13-25) by Austin College. Jenkins finished with eight kills and Tigilau added seven; Jones and Misa’alefua collected 13 digs and 19 assists respectively.

Bacone (7-15, 1-4) faces No. 1 and undefeated Texas at Brownsville on Saturday at the Palmer Center beginning at 1 p.m.
