MIDWEST CITY — Three Muskogee wrestlers are in the Class 6A regional finals in their respective weight divisions after Friday’s competition at Midwest City High School.
The trio are Dawaylon Barnes at 138 pounds, Jacobe Smith at 152 and J.T. Andrews at 160.
Barnes beat Moore’s Colby Moates 11-5, while Smith pinned Putnam City North’s Mike McLish at 5:47 of the match and Andrews took a 4-2 decision against Lawton’s Tyler Wattenberger.
Finals start at 6 p.m.
Other Roughers are in the consolation side of the bracket. They include Chase Soper (120), Matt Acee (126), James Buckhanan (170), Cory Andrews (182), Haden Kolmer (195), Nigel Harris (220) and Elijah Pettey (285).
The consolation finals also begin at 6 p.m.
Class 4A
Fort Gibson's Nick Bailey at 220, Andrew Brestel at 285 are in the finals at Glenpool.
Tanner Enger is in the consolation quarters at 152 and Logan Wood is in the consolation semifinals at 170.
Class 3A
Competing at Berryhill High School, Landon Decker (160), Rowdy Simon (182) Cale Mays (195) and Tre Locust (220) are in the finals.
Decker is the defending state champion.
The Wolverines’ Jon Parks (126), Bret Vastine (132) and Rilee Simon (170) are still wrestling on the consolation side of the bracket.
