WARNER 51, FAIRLAND 8 — The unbeaten Eagles tightened their stranglehold on the District A-8 standings. Warner (8-0, 4-0 A8) led 26-0 after one quarter on their way to a 33-0 lead at the break.
Kyle Taylor led seven Eagles that scored with 10 carries for 84 yards and two touchdowns. Justin Wright scored on a 66-yard punt return with 5:35 left in the first quarter making the score 20-0. Fairland (5-3, 3-2) was held scoreless until the final three minutes.
AFTON 36, PORTER 0 — The Pirates (1-7, 0-4 A-8) lacked offense and fell into a 14-0 hole after the first quarter and 22-0 after the second, and finished with 65 yards of offense.
Linebacker Colby Stockton, defensive tackle Mason Deene and strong safety Kevon Bates led the Pirate defense. Porter running back Jacob Richardson sat out due to injury.
HARTSHORNE 25, GORE 18 — Gore (5-3) trailed 6-0 at halftime and 25-6 before a late rally fell short in a non-district tilt. Hartshorne (6-2, 5-0 2A-6) finished with 325 yards rushing and 436 total yards while the Pirates tallied 268 yards passing and 338 total.
With 9:25 left to play, Gore struck with two fourth-quarter scores, one a 40-yard Robert Clark pass to Logan Ohl, the other a 1-yard Ben Smith rush.
STROUD 46, HASKELL 0 — The Haymakers (5-3, 1-3 2A-5) trailed 39-0 at the half and allowed 322 in that time frame. Stroud (7-1, 5-0) totalled 409 for the game compared to Haskell’s 118. The Haymakers also fumbled the ball eight times, losing six of them.
STIGLER 54, HEAVENER 7 — Stigler (6-2, 4-1 3A-8) had a pair of 55-yard scores to remain tied atop District 3A-8. Trace Jackson had a 55-yard run while Christian Keith added a 55-yard reception.
ROLAND 44, EUFAULA 15 — The Ironheads (1-7, 1-4 3A-8) got a 14-for-19 passing performance from quarterback Dillon Larkin but were unable to advance from the basement of District 3A-8. Larkin passed for 167 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Cody Farris and Brandon Mullins both had three receptions; Farris for 68 yards and Mullins for 56 and a touchdown.
SEQUOYAH 46, JAY 24 — Brayden Scott connected with Ryan Helsley for the first score of the game, a 50-yard pass, and also the last score of the first half, an 18-yard reception. The second touchdown from the pair happened with 20 seconds left in the half, making the score 27-6.
Scott finished going 11-for-21 passing for 161 yards with two touchdowns for the No. 7 in 3A Indians (7-1, 4-0), setting them up for a district showdown with Hilldale next week. Helsley had five receptions for 108 yards and two scores.
PRYOR 40, TAHLEQUAH 13 — Tahlequah (1-7, 1-4 5A-4) scored on their opening drive going 80 yards on eight plays capped by David Dick’s 21-yard scramble. Mason McMillan scored the other touchdown to begin the fourth quarter and finished with 179 yards on 28 carries. Dick totalled 67 yards rushing and 53 yards passing 5-of-14. Pryor (3-2, 4-4) led 13-6 after one quarter and 26-6 at intermission.
CHECOTAH 47, IDABEL 12 — The Wildcats (6-1, 4-1) held Idabel (2-6, 1-4) to 200 yards of offense and maintained a share of the 3A-8 lead. Checotah started slow but piled up 298 yards before the halftime horn, leading 23-12. Next for the Wildcats, the annual McIntosh County War with Eufaula.
SASAKWA 38, WEBBERS FALLS 36, OT — Sasakwa’s two-point conversion in the overtime session proved to be the difference. The game was tied by Webbers Falls at 30 to end regulation on a roll-out pass by quarterback Jamie Carey who found Taylor Stephens for the 12-yard score.
The Warriors (5-2, 3-2 C-4) finished with 304 yards compared to 386 for Sasakwa (5-2, 4-1).
