PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Northeastern State men’s golf team sits in 10th place following Monday’s first round of the Guy Harvey Invitational, which is being held on the PGA National Champions Course, a 6,868-yard par-72 layout.
The RiverHawks posted a team score of 303 and were led by sophomore Josh Strimple’s even-par 72. He finished the first round tied for 13th.
The second round was nearly complete but play was halted due to darkness. The middle of the day was slowed due to lightning delays.
Seniors Kyle Fouts and Jacob Bartel tied with sophomore Brent Williamson in 42nd with identical opening rounds of 77. Junior Zach Tucker sits in 68th after carding an 81.
The conclusion of the second round and the final round will be today.
