Both gyms at Muskogee High School will be filled with high school wrestlers as the annual Charles Garrett Open begins at 10 a.m. and continues until 5 p.m. today.
Named for a longtime supporter of Muskogee wrestling booster who died in 2001, the Open will feature 20-25 schools of all classifications in the one-day event.
“There will be 400-500 participants,” Bobby Jefferson, the MHS coach and tournament director, said. “It’s an open tournament, just individual wrestling.”
One of the top individuals competing today is Muskogee’s Quincy Mondaine at 215 pounds. He signed a scholarship with University of Oklahoma last week
