Sequoyah grad Angel Goodrich seemingly recovered quite nicely from a knee injury that sidelined her for her freshman season at Kansas last year.
In the Jayhawks' 86-56 exhibition win over Pittsburg State on Saturday, the four-time All-Phoenix Player of the Year contributed 10 assists in 18 minutes. Typically a do-everything player at Sequoyah, the KU guard was strictly a quarterback on the court in this contest, missing on her only two shots from the field.
Most of the assists were off fast breaks.
“Right now, we don’t have a lot in for her,” KU coach Bonnie Hendrickson said. “We will put in more, but I didn’t want to overload her.”
Added Danielle McCray, the Big 12 preseason player of the year: "She was born with the ability to see the floor.”
