NORMAN — Landry Jones, the University of Oklahoma quarterback, was named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Jones completed 26 of 37 passes for 294 yards and four touchdowns in the Sooners’ 42-30 win against Kansas State. It was the second time this season for Jones to receive the honor. This week, he shares it with Texas Tech running back Baron Batch.
Jones didn’t throw any interceptions and led scoring drives of 67 and 68 yards in the fourth quarter and completed 14 straight passes in both drives. He has 17 TD passes this season, six more than any other freshman quarterback in the nation.
