The club’s second team of Betty Dixon, Laurie Fuller, Shirley James and Lorene West emerged as champions after surviving a format similar to the Ryder Cup. The formats were 18 holes of four-ball and 9 holes of single matches played Monday and the alternate shot format was played Tuesday.
The Oaks Country Club out of Tulsa and Enid’s Oakwood Country Club tied for second. In fourth was Southern Hills Country Club No. 2 and Muskogee’s other entry of Kathy Davis, Leslie Scott, Gwynn Sherman and Jan Ross took fifth.
Twenty-one teams from 15 clubs participated.
