ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Northeastern State men’s golf team finished in a tie for fifth Tuesday afternoon at the Missouri Western State Invitational. The tournament was held at the par-71, 6,582-yard St. Joseph Country Club.
Junior Zach Tucker shot a final round 73 to finish at 3-over 215 for the tournament (70-72-73) and in a tie for second place. His career-best finish entering the year was a T-8 from his freshman campaign, and he already now has two top-3 finishes in 2012.]
The remaining four RiverHawks all moved up on the final day from where they stood after the first two rounds.
Senior Jacob Bartel went from 21st to a tie for 16th following a final round 75 and to finish with a 222, while fellow senior Kyle Fouts also posted a final round of 75 to jump 10 spots and finish tied for 21st (224). Freshman Jackson Hess tied for 65th (236) and junior Jordan Perceful finished at tied for 79th (239).
