Sports calendar of events

The Sports Calendar runs each Sunday and Thursday. Send entries by fax to 684-2865, mail to 214 Wall Street, Muskogee 74401, bring by the Phoenix anytime Monday through Friday or e-mail it to sports@muskogeephoenix.com. Information will not be taken by phone. Items to run in Sunday’s paper must be submitted before noon Friday, and for Thursday’s paper, noon on Tuesday.



Basketball

LEAGUES

• Braggs Booster Club league for grades 3-6, to be played in February at the Braggs High School gym. Cost is $15 per child. Contact: Jana Ward, 781-9921.

TOURNAMENTS

• MAYB Tournaments, grades 3-12 boys and girls. Various locations regionally and nationwide. Contact: 316-284-0354 or mayb@mayb.com.

• Basketball tournament for grades 2-6 hosted by Jubilee Church from Jan. 29-31. Cost: $50. All proceeds will benefit a mission trip to Argentina. Contact: Brooke, 918-479-6400.

GENERAL

• Eagle Crest memberships for 2009, $200 per player allows an $18.50 golf fee. Contact: 682-0866.

Soccer

SIGN-UPS

• Muskogee Soccer Club (GCSA) will be accepting registrations on Jan. 3 and 10 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and on Jan. 6 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in front of the food court at Arrowhead Mall. Online registration for boys and girls ages 4-under to 8-under costs $35. 9-under and above is $55. Parents’ cost for wishing to coach child’s team is $25. Birth certificate required.
