Here are the conditions at Oklahoma lakes as reported Wednesday by the state Department of Wildlife Conservation and lake rangers.
NORTHEAST
Fort Gibson: Elevation 1 foot above normal, water 76 degrees and stained. Catfish have slowed down some. White bass fair on rooster tails around the windy points. Crappie slow on chartreuse and black jigs under docks and in brush piles. Report submitted by Rick Stafford with 3riverguideservice.com.
Greenleaf: Water 69 degrees and clear. Largemouth bass good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits along the shoreline and weed beds. Catfish fair on stinkbaits and cut baits on bottom. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at fishing docks and brush structure. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.
Hudson: Elevation normal. Largemouth bass good on plastics and slug-os. Channel and blue catfish fair to good on cut shad. Crappie fair to good on minnows and jigs around brush piles. Report submitted by Steve Loveland, game warden stationed in Rogers and Mayes Counties.
Keystone: Elevation 3 feet above normal, water clear to murky. Largemouth bass good early on buzzbaits and on spinnerbaits and pitching plastics at 4 to 8 feet in creeks and shallow rock points. Smallmouth bass fair on jigs, chunkbaits and crankbaits at 6 to 10 feet around main points at the mouths of coves and secondary points in coves. Spotted bass good early on buzzbaits and on spinnerbaits at 4 to 8 in riprap and banks with large boulders. White bass good on spoons, rooster tails and minnows at 2 to 6 feet around windy points on lake and below the dam when generating. Striped bass fair on bucktails and swim baits at 2 to 6 feet below the dam. Channel catfish fair on stinkbaits and worms at 4 to 8 feet in creeks, culverts and shallow coves. Blue catfish good on cut shad and Danny Kings punchbait at 6 to 10 feet over flats near creek channels in coves. Flathead slow on live shad and goldfish at 8 to 12 feet around bluffs, riprap and culverts. Crappie fair on minnow and pink or orange jigs at 10 to 14 feet in brush piles, large underwater boulders and any pole timber; move often catching 2 to 3 fish per spot. Lower Illinois: Elevation normal, water 70 degrees and clear. Largemouth bass good on topwater lures at 1 foot in back water and weed beds. Striped bass good on cut baits at 4 to 6 feet below Gore Landing. Catfish fair on cut baits on bottom all along the river. Trout slow on power bait at 2 to 4 feet in stocking holes. Tenkiller: Elevation normal, water 76 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on topwater lures early and late with some action at 20 to 25 feet brush piles and at midday on bass jigs. White bass good evenings on shallow banks on jigs, spinnerbaits and spoons. Sunfish good in docks on night crawlers. Report by Monte Brooks, Cookson Village Resort.
Webbers Falls: Elevation 1 1/2 feet above normal, water 69 degrees and murky. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits in creek channels and riprap. Catfish good on cut baits on bottom. SOUTHEAST
Eufaula: Elevation 1/2 feet below normal, water clear. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and topwater lures in rocky, shallow areas. White bass slow. Blue catfish fair on fresh shad drifting the flats. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 8 to 20 feet around boat docks and standing timber. Robert S. Kerr: Elevation normal, water 74 degrees and murky. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits at 5 to 6 feet in the riprap and rocky banks. Crappie fair on minnows at 8 feet around the edges of the old creek channels. White bass fair on jigs at 8 feet below Webbers Falls dam.
