OKTAHA — Now at 25-0, the Oktaha Lady Tigers don’t look like they’re not going to have any kind of let down anytime soon.
The Lady Tigers, ranked second in the Okrankings.com Class 2A poll, outscored the Henryetta Lady Knights 22-6 in the second period en route to recording a 81-59 victory at Oktaha’s gym on Tuesday night.
Still, Oktaha coach Chester Pittman is guarded in his thoughts.
“I don’t think we’ve peaked yet. At least I hope not,” he said. “We’re playing well right now.”
Three Lady Tigers scored in double figures, led by Whitney Brown’s team-high 23 points. She was 10-of-15 from the field on the night.
Oktaha had 13 points from its bench.
“We’re working to play as if we can beat anybody,” Brown said. “We’re playing well as a team right now.”
Oktaha flexed its muscle in the first half. It’s 16-0 scoring run in the first period overcame a 7-3 deficit to take a 19-7 lead with 2:07 left. The Lady Tigers led 19-13 at the end of the first quarter.
In that second period, the Lady Tigers had another scoring run, this one 13-0, on the way to a 41-19 halftime lead.
Jaylie Roper scored 18 and Lanessa Grayson added 15 for the Lady Tigers. Grayson and Hali Logan each pulled down seven rebounds.
Six other players scored at least two points for Pittman’s squad.
“We did a good job of passing the ball around in this game,” Brown said. “All of us also have the ability to score.”
Miranda Harjo scored a game-high 26 points for the 3A No. 11 Lady Knights (13-8). Harjo made 10 of 25 shots from the floor including 3-of-10 from 3-point range.
Oktaha wraps up the regular season next Tuesday at Canadian.

Oktaha coach Jim Glover summed it up succinctly after his 2A No. 7 Tigers lost to the 3A No. 11 Knights.
“We got outrebounded and gave up too many transition baskets,” he said.
Still, the Tigers (19-5) got within striking distance of the Knights (16-5), closing the deficit to 45-40 on Dustin Leach’s free throw with 3:15 left in the game. That would be as close as Oktaha would get..
“They’re such a disciplined team. Once we started putting pressure on them, they moved the ball around on us,” Glover said.
Henryetta, coached by former Warner girls coach Jerry Ward, had three players score in double figures. Joe Moudy and Chet Caywood had 15 points each and Blake Johnson added 12.
Ward, who left Warner after the 2007-08 season, was relieved after the game.
“To come on the road and into this gym, it was a good win for us,” he said.
Daniel Hayes led the Tigers with 13 points on 3-of-11 shooting from the field. He also made four free throws in the game.
Henryetta led 15-9 after the first quarter and 26-19 at halftime.
