Bacone College coach Trevor Rubly said signing offensive linemen was the top priority for this year’s recruiting class.
“We have already signed 10 and hope to sign between 12-15,” Rubly said. “We signed quite a few junior college players and some of them are already here working out with us. Offensive linemen are out there. Our line is going to be more athletic than it has in the past.”
In all, Bacone coaches signed 59 players from 10 states, including Florida, Maryland, California and Michigan.
They didn’t ignore Oklahoma.
Seven of the signees are from the state and and one of them is wide receiver Charles Marshall from Muskogee. His senior year was in 2007.
“Our defensive line coach has a friend who told him about Charles and Charles was looking for a place to go,” Rubly said.
Rubly said he and his staff will sign more players, but not sure how many.
“We’ve done a good job, but we’re still recruiting hard and going to keep grinding,” he said.
Bacone will have its spring game on April 20.
