Two area players were selected Thursday as nominees for the McDonalds All-American basketball games.
Kelsey McClure of Muskogee, a four-year starter at guard and a two-time All-Phoenix team selection, and two-time All-Phoenix boys MVP Porter guard Jacob Richardson were among 73 players from Oklahoma, the state with the second-most selections. At this point 800 players have been chosen nationally.
The final roster of 24 boys and girls will be announced during a selection show on ESPNU Feb. 14.
The 36th annual boys game is scheduled for at 8:30 p.m. April 3 at the United Center in Chicago. It will be broadcast on ESPN. The 12th annual girls game is set to be played before the boys game, beginning at 6 p.m. It will be shown on ESPNU.
