Calendar

The outdoor calendar runs every Friday. Items should be submitted by fax 684-2865, e-mail at sports@muskogeephoenix.com or submitted in writing to the Phoenix at 214 Wall Street during business hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Items must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday for inclusion in the next calendar.

WEEKLY

Saturdays — Greenleaf Bass Jackpot resumes this day of competition in Sept. , from 8 a.m. to noon, $30 entry fee. Membership fee of $5 per person. Contact: 781-2740.

THIS WEEK

Saturday — The Tulsa Metro Women in the Outdoors event at Camp Okiwanee, west of Sapulpa. This event is for women who are 14 or older. WITO is designed to let ladies try hands on outdoors skills, taught by experts, in an friendly environment. Twenty-four class schedule begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at 7 p.m. Download an registration by going to womenintheoutdoors.org , click on events. Sept. 18 — Hunter education class, Wagoner Civic Center, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No pre-registration required.

18: Duck blind drawing for waterfowl hunting blinds on Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation Reservoirs. Registration for Ft. Gibson Drawing begins at 7 a.m., for Eufaula Lake at 9:30 a.m. and Webbers Falls at 12 p.m.

Sept. 18-19 — FLW Bass Fishing League, Okie Division, Super Tournament, the final stop on the tour in 2010, at Grand Lake. Take-offs at 7 a.m. and weigh-ins at 3 p.m. each day.

Oct. 2 — Lake Country Anglers finals, Paradise Cove, Fort Gibson Lake.

NORTHEAST

Fort Gibson: Sept. 4. Elevation 1 foot below normal, water 83 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits at 5-8 feet around structure. White bass good on rooster tails and small crankbaits at 6-10 feet along windy points. Catfish good on juglines and road and reel baited with cut bait and shad heads. Report submitted by Rick Stafford in Wagoner.

Greenleaf: Sept. 7. Elevation normal, water clear. Largemouth bass good on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and bill baits along creek channels, shorelines and brush structure. Catfish good on fresh cut bait and stinkbait on bottom. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around fishing docks and brush structure. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

Hudson: Sept. 7. Elevation normal, water 78. Largemouth bass good on topwater lures early and late. White bass good on small rooster tails and small jigs. Channel catfish good on shrimp and stinkbait. Blue catfish good on cut bait. All other fishing slow. Report submitted by Steve Loveland, game warden stationed in Rogers and Mayes counties.

Webbers Falls: Sept. 7. Elevation normal, water murky. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits along creek channels and riprap. Catfish good on fresh cut bait and stinkbait along mudflats. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around bridges and brush structure. All other fishing slow. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

SOUTHEAST

Eufaula: Sept. 6. Elevation 2 feet below normal, water 86 and clear. Largemouth bass fair on plastic baits and crankbaits around deeper points. White bass fair trolling crankbaits around deeper flats and points early and late. Blue catfish fair on fresh shad drifting deep flats and creek channels. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 8-20 feet around bridges and standing timber. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

Robert S. Kerr: Sept. 7. Elevation normal, water 85 and murky. Largemouth bass slow. White bass fair on jigs and slabs trolling outside the mouth of Big Sans Bois Creek and the Arkansas River. Catfish fair on juglines and trotlines baited with fresh shad and cut bait. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around submerged brush piles. Report submitted by Leland Sockey, game warden stationed in Haskell County.
