Tulsa dismisses AD
TULSA – Tulsa University has fired athletic director Ross Parmley, who was named in the federal investigation into an alleged bookie in Oklahoma City.
Tulsa President Steadman Upham says Parmley told him in October 2011 that he was cooperating in an FBI investigation related to the gambling case, this when Parmley was still interim AD. He was formally named to the post in January.
Upham says Parmley assured him he hadn’t gambled on sports beyond friendly golf games, but Upham says he learned late last month that Parmley “had not been truthful.” The school put Parmley on administrative leave on Nov. 27.
Upham says the private university is cooperating with the NCAA.
