Oklahoma State’s men’s athletic programs finished 14th nationally in the inaugural Capital One Cup, it was announced Tuesday by the Capital One Financial Corporation, an official NCAA Corporate Champion. The Cowboys finished with 41 points across all men’s sports.
OSU’s national championship in men’s cross country headed up the Cowboys’ showing which included a third-place national finish and a fourth-place wrestling team.
Its women’s teams, led by an Elite Eight finish in soccer and a first-ever softball College World Series appearance, finished in 26th place.
The Cowboys finished second among all Big 12 schools while the Cowgirls finished fifth.
Oklahoma was 18th in women and Oklahoma men were 33rd. The Sooner men were highest in football following a Big 12 title and the women graded high in track and softball.
Florida won the men and Stanford the women. Texas was the top Big 12 school
Last week, the Sears Cup, which combines both men’s and women’s sports, had Oklahoma 10th and Oklahoma State 33rd in its final tallies.
